Registration, Absence and Dinner money

Registers are recorded at 9.00a.m. A child who is late will be a LATE mark after the register has been returned to the office (usually by 9.15a.m.)

All children who arrive late at school should be brought to the office area where parents are asked to sign the late book.

Sick children must NOT be sent to school.

Absence from school due to illness:

There are various acceptable ways of notifying the school:

  1. By telephone.
  2. By letter – posted or hand delivered.
  3. By personal visit from a parent or known relative.

Please do ensure that the school is notified preferably on the first day of absence, as all unexplained absences must be reported and are regarded as truancy.

Medical appointments.

If these occur during the school day, Parents are asked to let their child’s class teacher know of such appointments in good time, as confirmation of such permission must be sought from the Head Teacher.

Accidents and Illness in School.

In the case of your child having an accident or being taken ill at school, we will contact you. Please ensure that the personal details form for your child is kept up to date if you change your contact address or number. Please also provide us with an alternative number should you be unavailable.

It is not our policy to administer medicines to children in the school. In very exceptional circumstances medicines may be administered by parents within school, provided that written details of the reasons and treatment are sent to the Head Teacher.

Child Protection.

We are legally required to report cases of non-accidental injury to Social Services following school and LEA Child Protection procedures. The Head Teacher is the designated teacher to oversee Child Protection issues.

Dinner money is paid daily.

Children are issued with a bag in which to keep the money. The empty bags are returned to the children at the end of each day. An adequate amount for a meal and a drink is between £1.30 and £1.70.
